I'm trying to create a sidebar on all product category pages (New Kites, Kiteboards, etc.) so that users can filter the products by size, brand etc.  I have managed to create custom sidebars and add the WooCommerce Layered Nav Widget but I can't get the widget or any other filter to show up in the custom sidebar.  I have added the appropriate attributes to each product but still nothing shows up in the side bar.  I've got it working on other themes but I can't make it work on Good Store.

I'm fairly new to all of this so I apologize in advance.  Is there a tutorial or an easy way to add filters to these pages and have them display in the sidebar?
