problem with saving - adding widget

Hello, when i trie to add a widget to example:widget menu area 1 or widget menu area 2the site doensnt save the widget.The icon of saving keeps on turning and doesnt stop.
Even after a restart (reboot) i cant add & save a widget.Second question to this topic:When i finally add a widget, where can i give in that i only want to show this widget on a specific page?Thanks in advance for a quick response.
