How to allow @ in usernames

Hi,Is there a way to allow @ within usernames? The reason I ask is that our site users create an account upon woocommerce checkout...with their email. Wordpress then only allows all text before @....so when a user trys to log in....they can only enter the first part of their email....Is there any work around this?
