I'm lost with all the settings, .po, .mo files and languages for core, theme and all plugins involved.

Main language is Slovenian, secondary language Croatian. On previous sites I used to translate everything with a plugin called CodeStyling Localization. Here I'm trying to use WPML, but with no success :(

What files am I missing where? How should I translate everything from en_EN to sl_SL and hr (regarding croatian, it's a bit of a mess - what is correct, hr or hr_HR, looks like core needs hr string and plugins hr_HR)?
