Styling Options - How to tile and repeat background image?

I have an image that I would like to use as a background, however I need it to tile and repeat. When I set the image as my background image it works, but it is just a single small image that is hidden by the boxed content of the theme. I didn't see any options to set the image to repeat. Would this need to be a custom CSS thing? And if so, what code would be required?Thanks!
