Problems with shortcodes

It seems these don't work when using the WYSIWYG editor. When I click on one it simply opens a dialogue with a layer over it. When I click any part of the screen the dialogue simply disappears. Only shortcodes that do work are the simple ones (like columns). Check the image in the LINK box below.I would like to update to the latest version, as this might help, but I'm afraid I will loose all my customizations. Please look at this issue.
