Subcategories on Home Page through Revo Composter "Product Categories"

We recently organized our products into top-level and sub-categories.
When we did this, the product categories that we moved below the top level categories have disappeared from the home page. I have tried to add the array of product categories to the "Woo product categories" Revo Composer component, but that does not work. Currently, only the top level categories are displayed, not the sub categories.
Can I change this in the PHP code?Or, do I need to use this? https://docs.woothemes.com/document/woocommerce-nested-category-layout/
