My Account and Checkout page alignment when not logged in

The My Account and Checkout pages don't take up the full width of the page when not logged in. I assume this is because the sidebar is not displayed when not logged in. How do I get the login and checkout content to take up the full width of the page when the sidebar is not displayed (when the user is not logged in).
