Import theme options not working

I had set up my colors and options for everything and then I wanted to import demo data. I assumed that in doing this, I would be able to restore all my settings, colors & styling by importing my theme options that I had previously backed up to google drive. However, after installing demo data and trying to import my backed up theme settings, it did not work. None of my settings or styling/color changes were imported.Why doesn’t it work??
