I am trying to adjust the colors used with the categories. I have used firebug to adjust them and I've tried editing the custom-styles.css file on the server. The changes do not show. If I copy the contents of my edited custom-styles.css and paste it within the custom code/custom css box in theme options the colors change. I would rather have better control over editing the custom-styles.css file. Is there a way to do what I'm trying without using the theme options custom code box? Is there an override file, like a custom.css that can be used or must I always use the custom css box in theme options?
