Featured Slider on front page deletes posts and resets to latest post

Hi I have an issue... I make post sticky which is fine but after a bout a week all the posts I have mad sticky dissappear and it defaults to the latest posts....The major problem is it physically deletes the posts from the website and the database... should it do this if so how can I stop itThanks
